Join Us for a Tour of Cloverbud Ranch
Join us for a family-friendly tour of Cloverbud Ranch hosted by grass-fed beef producer Martin Beck! During the tour we will hear about pasture management, soil biology, rotational grazing, manure distribution, stocking density, heritage breeds, and more! Cloverbud Ranch partners with ERICD and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to follow smart environmental practices. This tour is great for families to explore a working cattle ranch, farmers who are interested in pursuing environmentally-smart practices, and community members who are interested in sustainable agriculture!

About Slate Hill Cattle Company at Cloverbud Ranch:
We have been raising the finest 100% grass-fed beef and free-ranged heritage pork locally, naturally, humanely, and sustainably since 2011. We care deeply about our animals and provide them with a long stress-free life, rotationally grazing on 100 acres of lush coastal pasture at our Cloverbud Ranch property on Aquidneck Island. Our traditional artisanal methods represent less than 2% of America’s beef production. We require a large amount of space and a long time to grow out our cattle to a high culinary standard. In fact, twice as long as commodity feedlot beef which has been scaled to industrial production levels by depending on grain ration which fattens them quickly. We have transitioned from many years as a stocker / feeder operation to a cow-calf breeding program with our own Austrian Pinzgauers, a rare and historic Alpine heritage breed that has only been in North America since 1975. The Pinzgauers were selectively bred over centuries for hardiness, mothering, easy birthing, abundant, rich milk and calm, gentle demeanor. They are medium-framed animals, sized perfectly for pasture performance and fattening on grass. They help us fulfill our value proposition to our customers providing tasty, heathy, local beef raised in regenerative method."
